Copper is valued for strength, malleability, ductility, and ability to conduct electricity and heat. It is also non-magnetic, resists wear, and forms a green patina which makes it resistant to corrosion.
Copper changes and evolves with time as it reacts with various elements. You will find that your copper piece will age and look even more beautiful as time passes than the first time you saw it.
Our copper pieces are sprayed with clear acrylic lacquer to help minimize upkeep. It is best to keep your decorative copper pieces dust-free and, if necessary, wash your lacquered pieces with a gentle soap solution, rinsing thoroughly and patting dry with a soft absorbant cloth. Even with the clear lacquer finish, copper will age and patina over time.
Do not use copper cleaners or abrasives on your copper. Copper is a soft metal and will scratch if any abrasive cleaners are used.
Also avoid prolonged contact with citrus juice, vinegar, or other acids. These are methods for cleaning non-lacquered copper cookware, not copper art pieces. If contact occurs with an acidic material, rinse immediately with water. If a "spot" remains on your copper after rinsing, be assured that given time the copper will age and the spot will eventually disappear.
