Here's The Copper Guild's official entertainment and greeting committee.
Jake
Connor
Jake was passed around and labeled undesirable. One family even dumped him in the hot Arizona desert to die. He survived and actually found his way back! He's a big, hearty boy who will do almost anything for a tortilla or a tummy rub...preferably both.
Connor was a pound puppy that we adopted in 2003. Part Shar Pei and part Rottweiler, he still has little Shar Pei wrinkles on his big ol' nose. He loves any type of food that's white, especially sour cream. (And you thought dogs were color blind!)
Jazz
Tucker
Jazz is another pound puppy, adopted when she was six months old back in 2001. In her younger years she would play fetch until she passed out from exhaustion. Now she is a lazy old girl who just wants to follow us around the house.
Tucker is also a pound puppy from the Prescott area. He's our champion lizard hunter. He can't quite manage to catch them, but he'll wander the yard for hours looking for any movement. Tucker thinks he's pretty neat because he knows how to give high-fives and high tens.
Izzy
Iliana (aka "Monster")
Izzy is a fat Chihuahua whose nickname is Cupcake because she's so round. She'll nab the other dogs' food and run with her mouth stuffed full. She doesn't know it's not popular to be overweight, and she'll sit and adoringly stare at her reflection in the mirror every night. Izzy was slated for euthanasia in the Phoenix area when we rescued her.
Iliana was adopted as a puppy when her first owners realized they couldn't keep her. She is a little monster of a Chihuahua who thinks everything in life is a game. I've never seen so much exuberance in any living being. Whatever she does, she does with gusto...whether it's biting at Jake's legs or shoving Nylabones in our faces. Good thing she's so doggone cute and irresistable...
Dante Doodle
We believe in animal rescue! Adopt a pound puppy or kitty and save the life of your next best friend.
And always spay or neuter your pets! Too many wonderful "kids" end up euthanized because there just aren't enough homes for them all. It's a tragedy that can be avoided if we all do our part.
Being a cat who weighs 25 pounds, Dante of course rules the house. He was a ten-year-old rescue at the Humane Society when we adopted him in 2002. Mean ol' cuss at the time, but with love and gentle care he's turned into a lazy leisurely slob.
